The St. Vincent de Paul conference at Most Holy Redeemer combines a “person-to-person” approach to service with our parish’s inclusive message of God’s love. We provide assistance directly to those in need, usually through in-person meetings where we offer the ministry of “being present and listening” as well as financial help for food, clothing, utilities, and rental assistance. We serve individuals living inside and outside of our parish, Catholic and non-Catholic.
Please consider joining our team of volunteers who put into practice Jesus’s central teaching to serve the poor. We meet monthly in the parish library for fellowship, reflection, and discussion. Even if you are not available for our regular meetings, you can contribute to service activities outside of the meetings. Below are some of our past and current activities. We are open to new ideas and suggestions for putting faith into action.
- Holding in-person visits with clients to assess their situation and needs
- Preparing and delivering bag lunches for the homeless
- Running clothing drives
- Staffing clothing giveaways at the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter at 5th and Bryant
